Building a membership that bundles everything

A clean path from "I have a few products" to "I sell them all together for one monthly price." A membership is the natural next step once you've shipped two or three individual products.

Quick answer

Have the bundled products already published, create a membership, pick the items to bundle (up to twenty), write the access instructions, set subscription pricing, publish, and test by buying it yourself. Customers get one subscription and instant access to everything inside.

Before you start

A short prep checklist:

  • A Klixey workspace with Stripe connected. See Connecting Stripe.
  • The products you want to bundle must already exist and be published. A membership wraps existing products — it doesn't create new ones.
  • A clear story for why the bundle exists. "All my courses for one price" is a story. "Eight things together" isn't.
  • A banner image and a one-paragraph description.
  • A pricing decision — monthly, annual, with or without a trial.

The playbook

1. Have the products you want to bundle already published

A membership can include any combination of:

Get each of them to a published state first. They don't have to be on sale individually — you can bundle a course that's normally Unlisted and only sold via the membership. → Product status

2. Create the membership product

Open Products, pick Add product, and choose Membership. Give it a name, a description, and a banner image.

3. Pick the bundled items

Open the Bundled items section and add the products you want to include. You can add up to twenty. Reorder them — the order is what customers see on their membership page.

4. Write the access instructions

This is the body of the membership page customers see after subscribing. Use it to explain what's included, where to find each item, and how to get the most out of the membership. A short, friendly walkthrough beats a list of links.

5. Upload the membership banner

The banner shows up on your storefront card, on the checkout page, and at the top of the customer's membership page. Use a strong image that signals "this is the whole package."

6. Set pricing

Memberships are almost always subscription. Open the Pricing section, switch to Full mode if you want a one-time and recurring option, and set the monthly and/or annual amounts. Add a free trial if you want — a week or two often converts better than no trial at all.

Pricing your products

7. Tighten checkout, confirmation, and welcome copy

A membership purchase deserves a warmer touch than a one-time sale. Edit the checkout headline, the order-confirmation message, and the welcome email so they say welcome to the club, not thanks for your order.

8. Publish

Flip the product's status from Draft to Listed. The membership now shows up on your storefront and the checkout page goes live.

Product status

9. Test by buying it yourself

Use a different email address to subscribe. Confirm:

  • You got the order confirmation and the welcome email.
  • The membership page lists every bundled item.
  • Each bundled course opens.
  • Each bundled community lets you in (and you appear in the member list).
  • Each bundled download is downloadable.

Cancel your test subscription right away

Otherwise you'll be billed next month. Cancel from the customer portal — same flow real members would use.

What customers see at the end

A membership signup is one of Klixey's cleanest flows:

  1. They land on the membership card on your storefront and hit the checkout page.
  2. They pay (or start a trial) and land on the membership page immediately — every bundled item is unlocked, no waiting.
  3. They get a receipt from Stripe and a welcome email from Klixey with a sign-in link.
  4. Inside the portal, they see one card for the membership and separate cards for each course, community, and download it includes.
  5. As long as their subscription is active, they keep access to everything. If it lapses, access pauses across the whole bundle. → Membership access

Common things to tighten before you launch

A few things make a membership feel like a real product, not a checklist:

  • [ ] Write an FAQ at the bottom of the access instructions — "how do I cancel?", "can I keep my downloads?", "do I get new content?".
  • [ ] Plan a 'what to do first' welcome post in any bundled community so new members land somewhere alive. → Posts, comments and moderation
  • [ ] Decide on a trial length and commit to it. Don't change it every week — it confuses early buyers.
  • [ ] Pick the order of bundled items deliberately. The first three are what a new member sees without scrolling.
  • [ ] Mention the cancellation policy in the welcome email. Customers who feel free to cancel are more likely to stay.

Removing items from a live bundle

If you remove a bundled item later, existing members lose access to that item but keep the rest of the bundle. Add a heads-up post or email before you do it. → Membership access

After launch

Once subscriptions start coming in, the things to watch:

  • Income dashboard — subscription health is here. Look at active subscriptions, cancellations, and the trend month over month. → Income
  • Customer list — every member appears here with their subscription status. Use it to find people whose payment failed or who paused. → Customer list · Customer detail
  • In-app notifications — every signup, cancellation, and failed payment rings the bell. → In-app notifications
  • When a payment fails, Klixey automatically retries the card a few times and emails the customer with a one-click link to update it. You'll see the failure on their record. → When a payment fails

When someone asks for a refund or wants to pause, do it from their customer record. You can refund the latest payment and cancel the subscription in one place. → Refunds, failed payments, and disputes
