Working with multiple workspaces
A workspace is a self-contained business on Klixey — its own store, its own customers, its own brand, its own billing usage. On the right plan you can run more than one workspace from a single Klixey account.
Quick answer
Use the workspace switcher in the top-left of the app to move between workspaces. Create new ones from the same switcher. Each workspace is fully separate — different store, different customers, different brand — but they all sit under the same Klixey account and the same plan.
Why have more than one?
The most common reasons creators run multiple workspaces:
- Different brands. A coaching business and an art-prints shop with different audiences shouldn't share a storefront.
- Different business lines. A consulting practice for B2B clients, separate from a course business for individuals.
- Clean separation for a partner or sub-brand. You may want to keep operations, branding, and customer lists distinct.
If your goal is just to organize your products inside one business, you don't need a second workspace — categorize products inside your existing store instead.
What's isolated per workspace
| Per workspace | Shared across workspaces |
|---|---|
| Store, pages, slug | Your personal profile (name, email, password, photo, theme) |
| Brand (colors, cards, text, fonts) | Your Klixey plan and billing |
| Products and their content | Your sign-in session |
| Customers and their data | |
| Team members and their roles | |
| Custom domain | |
| Connected Stripe account (for taking customer payments) | |
| Integrations (e.g. Google Calendar) | |
| Usage (contacts, storage, products) |
The clearest mental model: you are one record; each business is its own workspace.
The workspace switcher
The switcher is in the top-left of the app. Clicking it shows:
- Your current workspace, highlighted.
- Every other workspace you belong to (as owner or team member).
- A Create new workspace option.
Click any workspace to switch into it. The whole app reloads in that workspace's context — sidebar, store, customers, settings.
Creating a new workspace
Click Create new workspace in the switcher. What happens next depends on your plan:
| Your situation | What you see |
|---|---|
| You don't have a plan | A prompt to choose a plan first. New workspaces require an active Klixey plan. |
| Your plan's workspace limit is reached | A prompt to upgrade. Each plan caps the number of workspaces you can own. |
| You have room to add one | A form for the new workspace name and store name. |
If you can add one, the form is the same two-question setup as your first onboarding — workspace name, then store name and slug. Klixey scaffolds a default brand, a starter storefront, and a sample product, just like the first time.
How many workspaces can I have?
Workspace counts come from your plan. The numbers below are the workspaces you can own under each plan:
| Plan | Workspaces |
|---|---|
| Starter (lifetime) | 1 |
| Growth (lifetime) | 1 |
| Business (lifetime) | 3 |
| Pro (subscription) | 3 |
| Scale (subscription) | 10 |
Workspaces where you're a team member — invited by someone else — don't count toward your number. They sit under that owner's plan, not yours.

Switching billing context
The Plan & billing tab is per-workspace, but only the Owner of each workspace can see it. If you own multiple workspaces, each one shows its own usage bars and plan state.
Your underlying Klixey plan covers all the workspaces you own. The per-workspace billing tab is mostly about visibility — usage, invoices, and the Manage button — not about each workspace having its own plan.
One plan, many workspaces
You don't pay separately for each workspace you own. Your Klixey plan covers the whole set, up to that plan's workspace count. Customers, storage, and team-member ceilings apply across all your workspaces combined.
Leaving a workspace you don't own
If you're a team member in a workspace you didn't create, you can leave it anytime: open the workspace, then use the workspace menu → Leave workspace. You'll lose access to that workspace until the owner sends you a new invitation.
Owners can't leave the workspaces they own — see Roles & permissions.
