Brand profile - colors, cards, text, and fonts

Your brand profile holds the visual choices that should stay consistent across your store: theme preset, colors, card treatment, text color, and fonts. Change a brand setting in the Store editor and the preview updates right away.

Quick answer

Open Store in the sidebar, click Store Settings, then open Theme in the editor panel. Pick a starting preset, then customize colors, cards, text, and fonts.

What lives in the brand profile

One brand profile per store. These are the controls you'll see:

ControlWhat it sets
Theme presetA starter visual style you can apply, then customize.
Primary colorThe main accent color used across your store.
Background colorThe page background color.
Card styleWhether cards are transparent, automatically tinted, or custom colored.
Card tint strengthHow strong the automatic card tint is when card style is set to auto.
Text colorAuto, light, dark, or a custom text color.
Heading fontThe font used for titles and section headers.
Body fontThe font used for paragraphs and labels.

Starting from a preset

The fastest way to get something good-looking is to start from a curated preset. Each preset gives you a coherent palette and font pairing.

  1. Open the brand editor.
  2. Browse the preset carousel.
  3. Apply a preset.
  4. Tweak from there.

A preset is a starting point — it overwrites your current brand choices, but everything else (your pages, your content) stays put. You can layer your own edits on top.

Applying a preset overwrites your current brand

If you've been hand-tuning your colors and fonts, applying a preset replaces them. Klixey doesn't merge presets with your existing choices.

Live preview

Your store and product pages render against the brand profile. As soon as you change a color, card style, or font, the preview alongside the editor updates. No "regenerate" step, no rebuild.

This means you can:

  • Pick a color and immediately see it on the storefront preview.
  • Swap a heading font and watch it affect store headings and product cards.
  • Change card treatment and see whether product cards feel distinct enough from the page.

Colors

The visible color controls are Primary and Background. You can also set text color separately: auto, light, dark, or a custom color.

Don't worry about which color goes where. Open the brand editor, pick from the swatches, and watch the preview.

Cards and text

Cards can be transparent, automatically tinted from your background color, or set to a custom color. If you choose automatic tinting, you can pick a subtle, medium, or strong tint.

Text defaults to automatic contrast. Use light, dark, or custom text only when you need a deliberate override.

Typography

Two font choices:

  • Heading font — used for page titles, section headers, and product names.
  • Body font — used for paragraphs, labels, and most everything else.

You can pair the same font for both, or use a display font for headings and a clean sans for body — both work well.

Klixey hosts fonts for you. There's no external request to a font CDN at render time.

Browser favicon

The favicon is the small icon in a browser tab, next to the page title. By default your store shows Klixey's icon; on plans that include a custom domain you can upload your own.

Find Browser favicon in Store Settings, upload an image, and crop it in the square cropper Klixey opens. Your icon then shows on your storefront, customer portal, checkout, and coming-soon pages.

FormatsJPG, PNG, GIF
Max size5 MB
Dimensions180×180 to 1024×1024 pixels, square

Use a simple mark — a letter, a symbol, a cropped piece of your logo. A favicon renders at about 16 pixels wide in a real browser tab, so a full wordmark turns to mush. Test it by looking at your own tab, not at the upload preview.

Included with custom domains

The custom favicon comes with the same plans that include a custom domain. On other plans the control isn't shown and your store uses the Klixey icon. If your plan lapses, your storefront falls back to the Klixey icon straight away, and the uploaded file is kept for 30 days in case you resubscribe.

Two tabs

If you open the brand editor in two browser tabs, wait for Saved before switching between them. Klixey catches up to the latest saved brand version, but editing the same field in two places at once can still be confusing.

SituationWhat Klixey does
You make a change in tab A, save lands.Status indicator shows Saved.
You make a change in tab B after A saved.Tab B catches up to the latest saved brand version.
Two people edit the same field. The latest saved value is the one visitors see.

Tips for a coherent brand

  • Pick a preset and resist the urge to change everything. Curated presets are coherent by design.
  • Limit yourself to 2–3 brand colors. More than that and your store starts feeling busy.
  • Use card treatment sparingly. Transparent cards feel quiet; tinted or custom cards create stronger grouping.
  • Keep text on auto unless you have a reason. Automatic contrast avoids most readability problems.
