Personal Settings vs Workspace Settings

This is the single most-confused thing on Klixey, so it's worth getting straight up front.

You have two sets of settings:

  • Personal Settings — your user account. Travels with you everywhere.
  • Workspace Settings — the business you're running. Stays with the workspace.

If you belong to more than one workspace, your personal settings are the same in all of them. Each workspace has its own workspace settings.

What lives in Personal Settings

  • Your name and email (changing email triggers a re-verification)
  • Your password
  • Your profile photo
  • Your theme — light, dark, or follow your system
  • The Delete my account action

These travel with you. If a workspace owner removes you from their team, you keep your account, your photo, your password, and your theme.

What lives in Workspace Settings

  • Workspace details — name, business info
  • Brand — colors, cards, text, fonts, social links
  • Store settings — store name, slug, support email, social links
  • Plan & billing — which Klixey plan, the card we charge, invoices, payment history
  • Team — invitations, roles, role changes, removals
  • Custom domain — adding, verifying, removing
  • Integrations — connections like Google Calendar

A handy shortcut

Personal = "things about me." Workspace = "things about my business." If you're not sure where a setting lives, that question usually answers it.

Why two workspaces don't share settings

When you run two workspaces — say, one for your coaching business and one for your art prints — they live separately on purpose. They have different brands, different stores, different customers, different plans. Klixey keeps them apart so nothing leaks between them.

The only thing the two share is you — your personal profile is one record, used everywhere you sign in.

Belongs to someone else?

If you're a team member in someone else's workspace, their plan covers you — you don't need your own. You still have your own personal settings, which only you can change.

What happens when you leave a workspace

  • Your personal account is untouched.
  • You can no longer open the workspace's store, customers, or income.
  • You can rejoin only if the owner sends a new invitation.

If you own a workspace, you can't leave it — ownership isn't transferable in the app today. Contact support if you need to hand a workspace to someone else.
