Browser support

Quick answer

Klixey works on the current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge — on both desktop and mobile. We don't actively support Internet Explorer or browsers more than a couple of years out of date.

Supported browsers

We build and test Klixey against the latest stable release of every major browser, plus the one before it.

BrowserDesktopMobile
ChromeLatest two versionsLatest two versions (Android, iOS)
SafariLatest two versionsLatest two versions (iOS, iPadOS)
FirefoxLatest two versionsLatest two versions
EdgeLatest two versionsLatest two versions

If your browser updates itself automatically (the default for all four above), you don't need to think about this — you're already on a supported version.

What "supported" means

A supported browser gets:

  • Full functionality — every part of the creator app, storefront, and customer portal works.
  • The intended look — colours, fonts, spacing, and animations render the way they're designed.
  • Active testing — when we ship a change, we test it on these browsers before release.

We may fix issues that appear only on a supported browser. We won't necessarily fix issues that only appear elsewhere.

What we don't support

  • Internet Explorer. Microsoft retired it. Klixey will not load reliably on it.
  • Browsers older than ~2 years. Klixey uses modern web standards. Very old browsers will either look broken or fail to load.
  • Niche or experimental browsers. They might work — most do — but we don't test against them. If something's broken, your first step should be trying one of the four browsers above.
  • In-app browsers inside other apps. When someone taps a link from Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook, those apps open the page in their own embedded browser. Most things work, but logging in can be fiddly. Tell customers to "open in browser" if they hit trouble.

Mobile-specific notes

  • Most of Klixey is mobile-first. Storefronts, checkout, and the customer portal are designed for phones first, then scaled up. Customers can do everything from a phone.
  • The creator app works on tablets and big phones, but editing rich content (store appearance, product pages, course lessons) is much faster on a laptop or desktop. If you're authoring, use a laptop.
  • Saved on one device, ready on the next. Klixey saves your work as you go, so you can start editing on a desktop and pick up on a tablet without losing anything.

If something doesn't look right

First step: refresh

A stale page is the #1 cause of "this button isn't working" — especially right after we ship an update. A hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows, Cmd+Shift+R on Mac) usually fixes it.

If a refresh doesn't help, work through this list:

  1. Update your browser. Go to your browser's About menu — it'll show the current version and offer an update if you're behind.
  2. Try in a private window. This rules out a browser extension (ad blockers, VPN extensions, and content blockers occasionally interfere with login or video playback).
  3. Try a different browser. If it works in Chrome but not Safari, that's useful — let us know.
  4. Check your internet. Slow or flaky connections look like Klixey being slow.
  5. Email us. support@klixey.com with the browser name, browser version, what you were trying to do, and (if you can) a screenshot.

JavaScript and cookies

Klixey needs both. If you've disabled either at a system or browser level (some privacy tools do this), the app won't run. The browsers above ship with both on by default — you'd have to turn them off intentionally.

Accessibility

We're committed to making Klixey accessible. We follow common accessibility guidelines and test with keyboard-only navigation and screen readers on Chrome and Safari. If you hit a barrier — a control you can't reach with the keyboard, text that's hard to read, contrast that's too low — email support@klixey.com and tell us what you ran into. We take it seriously.

Customer-facing storefronts

Your storefront and customer portal use the same browser support as the creator app. That means any customer with a current browser will be able to buy from you and access their purchases. You don't need to do anything special.
