Roles and permissions quick reference

A workspace has four roles. This is the one-paragraph version. The full capability matrix — every action, every role, every edge case — lives in Roles & permissions.

Quick answer

Owner runs billing and the plan. Admin runs everything else. Editor builds the store and ships products. Viewer can look but not touch. Invite people as Editor unless you have a specific reason not to.

The four roles

Owner. The person who created the workspace and pays for the plan. Exactly one per workspace. Only the Owner can change the plan, view invoices, or update the payment method. Ownership is set at workspace creation and can't be reassigned in the app — contact support if you need to transfer.

Admin. Full operational access. Admins manage workspace settings, custom domain, team, and customers. They can invite Editors and Viewers, but not other Admins. Only the Owner can act on another Admin.

Editor. Builds the store and products. Editors can do everything content-related — pages, products, courses, lessons, customers, bookings — and pull income reports. They can't change workspace settings, manage the team, or change the plan. This is the right role for most collaborators.

Viewer. Read-only access to the store page. Useful for stakeholders who want to see what's live without editing it.

One quirk to know

Viewer is auto-redirected away from the dashboard

A Viewer who tries to open the Dashboard is redirected to the Store page instead. They don't see income, customers, or product management. If a new team member tells you "I can't find the Dashboard," double-check they were invited as Editor, not Viewer.
