Storage usage
Storage is everything you've uploaded to Klixey — videos, downloadable files, images, banners, avatars. Each plan has a total cap on how much you can store across your whole workspace.
Quick answer
You'll see a storage usage indicator on your billing page and across upload screens. Lifetime plans (Starter, Growth, Business) have hard caps; Pro and Scale subscriptions have unlimited storage. If an upload would push you over, Klixey rejects it before the file starts uploading.
Where to see your usage
Open Workspace settings → Plan & billing. You'll see a storage usage bar — used, available, and total.
The indicator also appears next to upload buttons in product editors, so you can see how close you are before you start uploading large files.

Unlimited isn't "infinite"
Pro and Scale don't enforce a total cap, but we ask that you use storage in line with running a normal business. If your usage stands out — hundreds of gigabytes of unused archive footage, for example — we'll reach out.

What counts toward your quota
Anything you upload to Klixey, stored on your behalf:
- Videos — course welcome videos, lesson videos, community post videos.
- Downloadable files — the files customers receive when they buy a digital download product.
- Images — store avatars, product thumbnails, course/appointment/membership/community banners, community post images.
- Avatars — your profile photo and the avatars of any team members.
- Community resources — files attached as community resources.
What doesn't count
- YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, and CloudFront embeds. When you embed one of these as a course video (or add a YouTube link as a community resource), Klixey just references it. Nothing is stored on Klixey's side.
- External links. Outbound links in posts, link products, or descriptions don't count.
- Text content. Descriptions, lesson copy, post bodies, captions — none of it counts.
- Categories, tags, metadata. Structural data is free.
- Customer-uploaded avatars. Your customers' profile photos are kept lean and don't count against your workspace storage.
When an upload would exceed the limit
Klixey checks size before the upload starts. If a file would push you over your cap, the upload is rejected immediately — you don't waste time waiting for a 500 MB video to upload only to be told there was no room.
You'll see a message that explains:
- How much storage your plan includes.
- How much you're currently using.
- How much the new upload would add.
From there, your options are:
- Delete content you don't need. Old draft videos, unused banners, retired course modules.
- Use external links. YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, or a CloudFront URL for video, an outbound URL for downloads.
- Upgrade your plan. Higher lifetime tiers add room; Pro and Scale remove the cap entirely.

Per-file limits
Even on Pro and Scale, individual files have size caps that exist for upload reliability and storefront performance — for example, a 500 MB limit on videos and a 1 GB limit on downloadable files. Hitting a per-file limit isn't a workspace storage problem; it's a problem with the specific file. Compress, split, or host it externally.

Subscriptions and storage
Pro and Scale don't enforce a workspace cap. If you're already on a lifetime plan and bumping up against your storage cap, switching to a subscription is the fastest way to unblock yourself — see Plans for the trade-off and Managing your Klixey plan for how.
Freeing up space
Deleting a product, lesson, post, or banner frees its storage as soon as you delete it. The number on your billing page updates the next time you load it.
If you started an upload and then abandoned it (closed the tab, lost connection), the partial file is cleaned up automatically within a few hours — it doesn't stay parked against your storage.
