Managing your Klixey plan
Your Klixey plan is what you pay for as a creator. This page covers everything you do from the billing page — upgrading, switching formats, cancelling, resuming, and finding past invoices.
Quick answer
Open Workspace settings → Plan & billing and click Manage. From there you can change plan, cancel, resume, and find your invoices and payment methods.
Only the workspace Owner can manage the plan
Admins, Editors, and Viewers can't see the Plan & billing tab at all. If a teammate needs the plan changed, the Owner needs to do it. See Roles & permissions.
Finding the billing page
Top-right avatar → Workspace settings → Plan & billing → Manage.
The Manage page shows:
- Your current plan (which tier, lifetime or subscription, monthly or annual if applicable).
- Usage bars per workspace — contacts, storage, products, team members.
- Lifetime purchases you've made, including any that have been superseded by an upgrade.
- Invoices — your past charges, loaded as you scroll.
- A link out to a hosted billing portal for managing your card and downloading invoices.
Upgrading a lifetime plan
You can move from a smaller lifetime tier to a larger one at any time.
How it works:
- Open the Manage page and click Change plan.
- Pick the lifetime tier you want.
- Klixey charges your card for the difference between what you've already paid and the new tier's price.
- Your old purchase is kept on file so the history is transparent.
- Your new limits take effect immediately.
You can only upgrade up. Lifetime plans don't downgrade — once you're on Business, you're on Business.
Switching to a subscription
You can start a subscription whenever you like, including if you're already on a lifetime plan.
How it works:
- From Change plan, pick Subscription and choose Pro or Scale, monthly or annual.
- Klixey starts charging your card on the chosen schedule, starting today.
- Your subscription's limits take over — for example, contact and storage caps disappear.
Your lifetime purchase stays on file. If you later cancel the subscription, you fall back to your lifetime plan's tier.
Swapping subscription tiers
If you're already on a subscription, you can swap between Pro and Scale, or between monthly and annual:
| Direction | When it takes effect |
|---|---|
| Upgrade (lower tier → higher tier) | Immediately |
| Downgrade (higher tier → lower tier) | At your next renewal |
On a downgrade, you keep your current plan's limits until the renewal date — Klixey will show a "Pending downgrade" notice on the Manage page so you don't forget. You can cancel the pending downgrade before that date.
See Plans → Changing plans for the rules.
Cancelling a subscription
To stop a subscription:
- Open Manage.
- Click Cancel subscription.
- Confirm.
Your subscription runs until the end of the period you've already paid for, then ends. You keep your subscription-tier limits and features until then.
You can change your mind
A cancelled subscription that hasn't ended yet shows a Resume button. Click it and the cancellation is undone — your subscription continues as if you'd never cancelled, with no gap in access.
After your subscription ends
When the period runs out and a cancelled subscription actually ends:
- If you have a lifetime plan on file (from a previous purchase), Klixey falls back to that tier.
- If you don't, your workspace goes into a suspended state for everyone except you. You'll see "Your plan has ended. Choose a plan to continue." Pick a new plan to come back. See Workspace Settings → When a plan lapses.
Invoices and your card
From the Manage page, click the link to the billing portal. This opens a hosted page (run by Stripe — the payment company) where you can:
- Download invoices for past charges.
- Update the card Klixey charges.
- Update your billing email for invoices.
The billing portal is a separate hosted page — it's where card updates happen, not in the app itself. Once you save changes there, you'll come back to Klixey.
What if a renewal payment fails?
Klixey retries the charge a few times over the following days. You'll get an email asking you to update your card. If every retry fails, your workspace goes into the suspended state described above, and you can update your card from the Manage page to recover.
The full mechanics are in Payment failures — though that page is written from the customer's perspective, the basic shape (past due → retries → suspended → recovered on a successful charge) is the same for creators.
