Set up your email sender
Sender Setup controls the name and address subscribers see when your marketing emails arrive. Complete it once before your first campaign, then return whenever your sender details change or Klixey asks you to take action.
Quick answer
Open Marketing → Email → Sender Setup. Add the name and addresses subscribers should see, verify your reply-to inbox, copy the domain records Klixey gives you into the place where you manage your domain, then return and run the domain check. You can send when all four tasks under Get ready to send are complete.
What you need
Before you begin, have:
- A From address on a domain you own, such as
hello@yourbrand.com. - Access to the service where you manage that domain.
- A working inbox where replies should go.
- Your business mailing address.
Free mailbox addresses are not a substitute for a domain you own. Your From address should use the same recognizable brand your subscribers signed up to hear from.
The four setup tasks
The Get ready to send checklist shows:
- Sender and business details
- Verify your reply-to email
- Authenticate your domain
- Klixey sending check
Complete them in order. Each task shows its current state and the next action when something still needs attention.
1. Add sender and business details
Open Sender and business details and complete:
- Sender name — use the name your customers recognize.
- From email — use an address on a domain you own.
- Replies go to — the inbox that should receive subscriber replies.
- Street address, City, Postal code, and Country.
- Unit or suite and State or region when they apply.
Your mailing address appears in the compliance footer of every marketing email. Klixey keeps that footer, including the unsubscribe link, at the end of the message automatically.
Click Save details. Klixey then sends a verification message to the reply-to address.
2. Verify your reply-to email
Open the verification message and use its confirmation link. Return to Sender Setup afterward; the checklist updates when verification is complete.
If the message does not arrive:
- Check spam, junk, and filtered folders.
- Confirm Replies go to has no typo and that you can open that inbox.
- Click Resend verification and use the newest message.
- If you cannot access that inbox, change the reply-to address and save again.
Changing the reply-to address later requires the new inbox to be verified.
3. Add your domain records
Open Authenticate your domain. Choose Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace, or Other or not sure so the instructions match the service you use.
For every record Klixey shows:
- Copy its Name/Host and Target/Value exactly.
- Add it where your domain's records are managed.
- Save the change there.
- Return to Klixey and run the domain check.
If your domain already has a DMARC record
Do not add a second one. Follow the message shown in Sender Setup and update the existing record only when instructed.
Domain changes can take time to appear. A checking state does not necessarily mean anything is wrong. Leave the records in place and try the check again later.
If one record fails, compare that row character by character. The most common problems are adding the wrong Name/Host, leaving off part of the Target/Value, or editing records for a different domain.
4. Complete the sending check
Klixey performs the final check after your details, reply-to address, and domain are ready.
When everything is complete, Sender Setup shows Your sender is ready. New senders may begin with temporary limits that rise automatically as they establish a healthy sending history.
If sending is paused or restricted, read the message on Klixey sending check and follow the action it gives you. Do not create another sender or remove working domain records unless the page specifically asks you to.
Changing sender details later
- Changing the Sender name updates what recipients see on future campaigns.
- Changing Replies go to requires the new inbox to be verified.
- Changing the From email to another address on the same domain keeps the same domain setup.
- Changing the From email to a different domain creates a new domain setup. Add the new records and complete the checks again before sending.
Troubleshooting
